OUR PASTOR

Pastor Frances L. Bunn was born in the state of Virginia She moved to New York as an teenager where she grew up under the guardianship of her parents, the late Deacon James A. Bennermon, Sr. and Shepherd Mother Hazel Bennermon and also by her grandmother, the late Mother Elizabeth Murphy. Pastor Bunn attended Poughkeepsie High School where she graduated and pursued a career as a surgical tech at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, where she recently retired after 47 years. Pastor Bunn's worked in the matertinity unit and in the operating room.  The spiritual experience of Pastor Green started as a child when she attended the Gaililee Holiness Church with her grandmother in Garland, North Carolina.

 

The seed was planted in her heart to accept Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. This seed germinated and matured by her conversion in Poughkeepsie, New York  as she surrendered her life to the Lord in a Thursday night service at the Green Chapel Overcoming Church of God to which her family attended. She serves as a teacher of the Sunday School, vice president and president of the Choir, usher. Pastor Bunn was liscensed as a Evangelist in 1985 the later ordained as an Elder by the late Bishop G. C. Ridgill. In June 2002 she was installed as pastor of Green Chapel Church by Presiding Bishop N. K. Allen, Sr. Under the leadership of Pastor Bunn the church has went under many renovations and they're still going. In October 2009 during the National Holy Convocation in Rome, Georgia, Pastor Frances L. Bunn was ordained and appointed as Presiding Elder of the New York District of the Overcoming Church of God of America, Inc. by Presiding Bishop N. K. Allen and the Board of Bishops. She is the first woman in the organization to serve as a Presiding Elder.

 

Presiding Elder Frances Bunn is married to Mr. Thomas R. Bunn and together they have two sons, Anthony R. Bunn, Sr. and Jesse L. Bunn. She has 7 grand childen and 3 great grand children.
